Ken Rosenthal just tweeted that Wil Myers and other prospects are going to Kansas City for James Shields and Wade Davis.
This is pretty impactful news for the Rangers, since Shields was apparently option #2 on fixing their rotation, after option #1, Zack Greinke, signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Myers is the Royals' top prospect, a guy considered a top 5 prospect in all of baseball.
UPDATE -- The deal is apparently Myers, RHP Jake Odorizzi, LHP Mike Montgomery (who is coming off two really poor minor league seasons in a row), and 3B Patrick Leonard for Shields, Davis and a player to be named later.
Montgomery is a big name, but he's a reclamation project at this point. Odorizzi, who came over to Kansas City in the Zack Greinke deal, is probably the 2nd best name in the group.
