But when I look at the front angle that this clip has, I clearly see his leg get tangled with Scola’s arms.

He was fighting through Scola’s arm before he ever even started to step down.
Also...
I’m not saying he did everything in his power to NOT step on him. Once his leg got tangled with Scola’s arms he could have chosen to just fall, and avoided stepping on Scola. Hell he probably would’ve drawn a foul at that point.
But I just don’t see how you can look at the proper angle, which is from the front, not rear baseline, and conclude that Love simply picked up his foot and jammed it into Scola’s face/chest. That’s not what happened. They got tangled and he got tripped up. Maybe at that point he made a conscious decision to not avoid Scola, but that’s not the same thing as looking down and stomping on someone. Not what happened.

of people hearing the rocket announcers being hysterical about it, thus whatever they say must be true.
I think that's part of it.
But the replay from the baseline does make it look pretty bad, and intentional. You can’t see any of the arm/leg tangling that you can see from the other angle. I was in agreement with everyone’s assessment until I saw the front angle.
And most blogs I’ve seen today seem to be posting a video that only shows the baseline angle.
And a third thing..
He did not “foul the shit out of Scola”. He swiped down on the ball..maybe he got some wrist. It might even have been a foul. But Scola clearly threw himself on the floor there.

but I’d like to think he would’ve at least given a courtesy look back if it was an accident. You can tell the difference between stepping on face and hardwood.

The really funny thing bout all this is that Milwaukee is one of the 30 most populous cities in the country; much “bigger” than Miami. Yet so many people, including the author of that article, refers to Miami as a big market and places like Milwaukee as hicks-ville.
Interestingly, at the time LeBron James was drafted it was hundred of thousands more populous than Miami, as Cleveland, Washington, Detroit and Baltimore some of the only major cities in America to lose population between ’05 and ’10(and they lost troves). On a completely, totally unrelated note those are all cities on the largest crime rate list.

But of all the announcing teams I’ve heard on League Pass, their crew spends by far the most time complaining about calls. At least Heinsohn is more of a one-man routine who just has to blow off steam sometimes. The Portland guys just go on and on.
