This Day in LSB History
Six years ago today, Orel Hershiser resigned from the Rangers to take a job with ESPN.
Hershiser had been a John Hart hire, coming over as special assistant to the g.m., and was viewed as someone who was in line to potentially succeed Hart once Grady Fuson was forced out.

Wow! Folks were unhappy to see Orel Hershiser leave or did I miss something?
Personally, I was glad he left. To me he’ll always be a part of the Hicks-Hart dark days of Ranger history. Orel always seems kinda … well, slick … and I mean that in a bad way. I never trusted the guy.

No, JD is Moses
Initially brought in under the old regime but ulitmately leading the slaves (franchise) out of purgatory and to the Promise Land.

When were you ever in a position where you had to trust him?
Such an odd comment (unless Orel tried to run a Nigerian Prince scam on you).

We all had to trust him ...
when he and Buck ran of Fuson.

Wow
That was six years ago?
Not mediocre. Right about average
So we made the right call with JD
I think…
If I had a gun to my head and had to pick one pitcher to pitch a game to save my life.... I'd pick 1999 Rick Helling.
Dear Rangers, Make me forget about 2010.......

Went off to Ohio and became an Indians fan if I remember correctly

Grady Fuson
MONEYBALL movie. Was that portrayal of Grady fair? Or did the filmmaker’s take some liberties there. Or was that just a “composite character” to make the film more interesting? He left here in a hurry and I sort of forgot how his departure happened. So, I was just curious. If anyone knows anything about that, as always, many thanks.
