LSB Community All-Time Greatest Rangers Ranking No. 1

With Texas Rangers history changing dramatically in the last couple of years, with LSB now being far busier than it was before, and with baseball season kicking up, I wanted to try this again.

If it's not successful, I'll quit. I'm thinking of going to 20, but we'll see.

Anyway, we're going to get the community's ranking of the greatest Rangers ever via systematic polls.

Feel free to define "greatness" however you see fit; majority will determine what our definition is, essentially. Please feel free to argue your choices and others in the comments, or not. However, if you are going to include on-field performance in greatness, I would encourage you to at least do a little bit of research to make sure some of your notions coming in are in fact correct.

Only players who played in Texas are considered for this.

I've included everyone who I thought might get a first place vote. If there is anyone not on the poll who you think should be up for No. 2, please let me know.

Pudge.

Great because he’s one of the greatest and because he was my favorite as a kid.

Yep.

Anger logic's so great I kinda forget what we saw in regular logic in the first place.

I'm going with value to the org rather than overall player skill.

Meaning A-Rod and Nolan will be below players who aren’t HoF because of their shorter tenures here.

Pudge is #1.

A-Rod would be high on my list for having possibly the three best Ranger seasons ever.

But lack of value produced past that, and lack of becoming a great representative of the Texas Rangers, or being a part of important seasons, will hurt him.

He's Mr. Freaking Ranger

I hate The Angels so much, it's actually cramping my style. (See RevHaloFans SBN profile page)

I'm HOPING people look at them as players.

And only players qualify.

But you can do what you want, and I’ll hope the majority sides with my vote.

Some of his best rate stat seasons were in Texas.

I’d probably take his first three years in Texas over his best three years in Houston.

But, coupled with workload, his California years were something else.

Agreed!

Nolan had amazing quality seasons in Texas, and his best year in Houston was probably during a strike year which really messed up what could have been a great year. Those California stats are amazing!

i think you should go to 100

just so that we can see people debate between Doyle Alexander and Oddibe McDowell.
