Research Method Question

I really hate to make this a FanPost, because it reveals my incompetence when it comes to programming and how to use databases. Also, I've already brought this up in a couple of comments in other threads.

Anyways... I have a study that I want to do, and I'm looking for statheads out there who can help me go about this the right way. I'm a political science major... not an engineer or statistics or any kind of analytical major that would know how to use spreadsheets and databases. I do know a bit about SPSS, however.

I want to measure how each batter in the league performed against the 25 best pitchers in the league as a whole during 2011. I define "best" as the 25 lowest FIPs in the league in 2011 with a 50 IP cutoff. You may disagree with me about FIP determining who is the best, but just go along with it. How could I create a table that shows how each batter performed against these 25 pitchers AS A WHOLE?

Also, I definitely want K%, BB%, Z-Swing%, Z-Contact%, O-Swing%, and O-Contact% listed in each batter's stat line.

I promise to keep you guys updated on the findings. Now, is there anybody who can assist me?
