Great article
I have to think this was a cry for help from Josh. It’s the only thing that makes sense. He lives in Westlake, he’s 20 minutes from any number of small towns in north Texas where he could find a tiny bar and possibly go unnoticed. He could have bought a six pack at a tiny 7-11 and drank them in his truck on some small road.
Instead, he goes to a busy bar in Dallas where he is sure to be seen and recognized?

I don't know about all that
Addiction is no rational beast.
Relapses happen; they don’t tend to be strategically planned to minimize damage.

This
I don’t see this as a cry for help and have been thinking the exact thing as base.head, who worded it much better than I ever could have.

Yes. There is rationalization in addiction
but not rational behavior.

It could just as easily be a FU to the Rangers
He’s pissed about his contract/negotiations, knows how much the Rangers lean on him and his sobriety, does some sort of passive aggressive shit thinking ‘they aren’t taking care of me, why am I taking care of them?’

There, my thoughts. How the heck can Passan get off saying any of that?

Philkid just posted this in the OT thread. It's from Fear the Sword.
Do not use subject lines for comments. When the thread has bold all over the place, it looks sloppy. It’s just a comment, does it really need a subject line? Only use a very short subject if you are posting a picture or GIF.
That’s crazy talk.

Cavaliers blog
would not have guessed that with 30 tries.
And we are not going to take Font advice from anyone related to the Cleveland Cavaliers
Is it a Cleveland thing?
The Browns blog does it, too.

It's run by the same group of douchetards that run Ohio States's SBN blog.
They have actually banned fans of the Buckeyes for using subject lines.

I say we all post there with subject lines at once

I think that's how the banning happened.
Several Ohio State fans rebelled, and started using subject lines all at once.

I noticed that alot of y'all don't use it
It looks funny

Did you contact Passan to ask him your questions, before calling him "cowardly"?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
Passan and I have had an extended back-and-forth on this.
I still don’t agree with him — and there are parts of this that do an eloquent job of summing up why — but I have to give Passan a lot of credit and respect for how open to critique and discussion he’s been.

I saw your comments in last nights thread. For as much vitriol and 'snark' as we tend to use on teh interwebs
I was really impressed at the the way the two of you handled your disagreement.
I happen to be intrigued by Passan’s point that for that instant in time, he didn’t care – the (edited) piece is well written as an opinion piece, not reporting. It made for a compelling read, agreement or not.

It's at the the very least an interesting talking point.
I don’t agree with the idea, but I doubt he’s the only person that has had the thought.
