Monday Morning Rangers Update

Jackie Moore upon hearing the gloops news

The Rangers lost again.

T.R. Sullivan writes about the Rangers leaving Las Vegas with a loss but a very solid start from Matt Harrison.

Jeff Wilson runs down the events from the Rangers 3-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs which dropped the team to 4-11 in Cactus League play.

Evan Grant writes about what happened in the game yesterday but also notes that Yu Darvish will be making his third start of the spring today at 3:05 pm CDT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

Master Tesfatsion reacts to the other game the Rangers played yesterday that ended in a rain out. The Rangers were winning that one but the Rangers aren't allowed to win spring baseball games.

Behind the DMN paywall, Grant takes a look at where the Rangers are at the halfway mark of Spring Training.

Sullivan writes about Johan Yan who is trying to follow the Alexi Ogando position player-to-pitcher conversion path to the majors.

Drew Davison writes about Robbie Ross and Mike Olt impressing Ranger folks with their first-half of spring performances.

Gerry Fraley was on SportsDay On Air to throw cold water on your Yu Darvish expectations. Fraley sees Darvish as a number three or four starter who he thinks can give the Rangers around 28 starts and 175 innings this year.

Davison helps you to get to know former LSU great Brad Hawpe a little better.

Fraley writes about C.J. Wilson pulling a sort of low-blow prank on Mike Napoli on Twitter. This Rangers/Angels rivalry is going to be fun.

Wilson has some notes which includes one on the Rangers potentially sticking with their spring rotation and not breaking up the lefties as we previously thought. That decision doesn't appear to have been made yet, however. If the Rangers maintain the same rotation from spring in the regular season, we'd be looking at Colby Lewis, Derek Holland, Matt Harrison, Yu Darvish, and Neftali Feliz in that order.

Tesfatsion serves up his Sunday summary 'Surprise Six' for you to survey.

Finally, Tesfatsion has more on gloops and their "We Are Totally Rooting for Baseball Project" campaign.
