I don't get a chance to look everyday, but I have seen some posts about the 2012 promotions schedule that maybe i can take a shot at helping you with some information. Please keep in mind, that Lone Star Ball is important to me, because I feel like the folks on Lone Star Ball are some of our best and most loyal fans. I value your opinions and most can tell you that a couple of promotion ideas have evolved from conversations and posts that I have seen here.
Going through the schedule, for 2012, there were 13 adult and first 30,000 fan giveaways. There were 9 promotions for Rangers fans 13 and under. We do our best to try and balance that out. I also saw a post that said we were not doing anything for adults on our 40th Anniversary giveaways. In May, the first 30,000 received a 1970s cap...in June, the first 30,000 received a Ryan 1989 retro t-shirt....In August, the first 30,000 will recieve a Power Blue t-shirt....and also in May, the first 25,000, 14 and older received a pink Rangers shirt with a 1970s logo, our Mother's Day giveaway, but it was for fans 14 and older. We have 3 bobbleheads on the schedule, one, created from this website, the Beltre Bobblehead, it went to the first 30,000....The Wash bobblehead is coming in August and will go to the first 30,000 and then there is a Kinsler bobblehead to kids in July.
On the Snow Monkeys, I have wanted to do this for a couple of years. This was not a "this year" idea. It took us awhile to find a supplier that could get us something that resemble an acutal snow monkey and to get the cost per item that made sense for us and a corporate sponsor. We viewed this as a kid item, yes, we all know how this started, but at the end of the day, we viewed as something for Rangers fans 13 and under. We also found a sponsor that wanted to sell some snow monkeys in their store.....I don't know how they are doing it, but Chicken Express talked about giving the snow monkeys away with the purchase of a chicken dinner or something like that, I am sure we will announce something on Sunday as to what their plans are. Please keep in mind, a lot of promotions have to make sense for sponsors and that they get some kind of return on their investment and there are alot of sponsors today that are trying to get away from the one night giveaway night.

Hell, I am a big fan of the "Old Fat Guy Rangers T-Shirt Day"....nothing but a white T with a Rangers logo and just give it to us guys, they tell me nobody would want that. Well, I'm old fat guy and we need shirts to mow the lawn in or clean up the garage. Like most of you I liked Chuck Greenberg's "Blue Light Special"....but what we didn't see, with the numbers of fans showing up at games now, it is tough for a concession company to give you quality service and a quality product dealing with the number of fans in our ballpark now...that's why you don't see much of that type of thing in a Major League ballpark, but again, I liked it and took me back to my days in the minors in Nashville.
I don't know if I solved any of your questions, but as always let me know what we can do to make the promotions schedule better...this doesn't make anything right, but if you look over the other club's schedules, we pretty much do the same thing that everybody else does....but nobody else is doing the snow monkey, maybe a rally monkey, but they couldn't pay me to take one of those.
