One year ago today, the Rangers traded Zach Phillips to the Baltimore Orioles for infielder Nick Green.

This is noteworthy for a couple of reasons.

First of all, I think this is transaction that opened the floodgates for players to start streaming from Texas to Baltimore, turning the Orioles into the Rangers East.

And secondly, there was a lot of discussion in the comments section of possible and proposed trades, with clark presciently predicting that the Rangers would, later in the month, acquire Koji Uehara from the Orioles in exchange for Chris Davis.
