REDRUTH ENGLAND - AUGUST 08: Banger racers towing old caravans compete in the annual Cornish Caravan Chaos at United Downs Raceway on August 8 2010 near Redruth England. The bizarre charity race the highlight of the banger racers calendar which saw over 15 old caravans destroyed coincides with the busy holiday season in Cornwall when roads in the county are often chocked with holidaymakers towing caravans. Banger racing is a popular contact motorsport especially in the UK and Ireland - in which drivers of old and scrap vehicles race against one another around a dirt or tarmac race track with the race won by the first car to the chequered flag while deliberately attempting to destroy opposing vehicles. Traditionally banger racers used the Ford Granada and Cortina in the 2-litre National Bangers class but the lack of available cars now means the more modern Ford Mondeo is the car of choice. Some vehicle enthusiasts have objected to banger racing claiming it is responsible for the destruction of countless classic cars such as old Rovers Jaguars and Fords. However many banger racers argue that the old cars they race are fit only for the scrap yard and are well beyond economic repair. (Photo by Matt Cardy/Getty Images)

The 2013 MLB Schedule has been officially released, and the Rangers are going to open on the road for the first time in a few years, kicking off the season with a three game set in Houston on April 2-4. A PDF of the complete schedule is available here.

We have this interesting note regarding the breakdown of games:

In all the Rangers will play 20 games against NL teams, 76 against the four teams in the American League West and 66 against the other 10 AL teams.

That's 19 games apiece against Houston, Anaheim, Seattle, and Oakland, which seems like a lot, although that may just be because there are now four teams we're playing that many games against, compared to just three.

The Astros drew 23K for the second game of the season this year, and 14K for the third game of the season, and those were both on weekends. Thus, I'm thinking that April 3 or April 4 would be a good time to have an LSB event at Minute Maid Park, where we could all come out and sit together and cheer on the Rangers.

If you'd be interested in attending an LSB event in Houston during the opening series, please say so in the comments, so I can gauge interest.
