Saturday morning Rangers news and links

Good morning, everyone. Happy Saturday.

David Murphy and the Rangers exchanged numbers on Friday for Murphy's arbitration case. Murphy is asking for $6.5 million, the Rangers are at $5.05 million. Indications are that the Rangers and Murphy will reach an agreement prior to going to arbitration -- the Rangers haven't had an arbitration case actually go since Lee Stevens in 2000.

Drew Davison has a story about the Rangers' open fifth starter spot, and the battle between Robbie Ross, Martin Perez, and Justin Grimm that will take place this spring to see who earns that job.

Anthony Andro writes that Neftali Feliz played catch yesterday, which marks the first time he's thrown since undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Davison has some notes about Alexi Ogando and the WBC, Neftali Feliz throwing, Neil Ramirez, and David Murphy.

Todd Wills has notes at the Rangers' website about Derek Holland and the WBC, Alexi Ogando and the WBC, the fifth starter battle, and Feliz throwing.
