The 6 division winners, seeded 1 thru 6, each get 1st round byes, while the 4 wild cards, seeded 7 thru 10, play best 2 of 3 series', with all 3 games at the location of the higher seed. The rest of the post-season, including the World Series, is expanded to best 5 of 9, with a 3-4-2 format.
The World Series is played at a warm weather neutral site in November. Since there is no more American or National league, or conferences for that matter, then any 2 teams, even from the same division such as the Rangers and Astros, could meet in the World Series.
The designated hitter rule becomes universal. Rosters are expanded to 30 players for the entire regular season and post-season. The amateur draft is expanded to include international prospects. Each organization will be limited to 1 Class A affiliate ( no more Class A-Advanced or Class A-Short Season ) and 2 rookie league affiliates.
