MLB relocation and expansion to 36 teams, radical realignment, expanded rosters and post-season, contracted regular season, and universal DH.

Grant expansion franchises to Mexico City, Charlotte, Nashville, Portland, San Antonio and New Orleans. Relocate the Athletics from Oakland to Sacramento, the Rays from Tampa Bay to Orlando, the White Sox from Chicago to Indianapolis, and the Blue Jays from Toronto to Oklahoma City. Realign into 1 combined league ( no more American or National, nor conferences ) with 6 divisions of 6 teams each based on geography rather than tradition.

Atlantic Division: Baltimore, Boston, New York Mets and Yankees, Philadelphia and Washington.

Northeast Division: Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis and Washington.

Southeast Division: Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans and Orlando.

Southwest Division: Arizona, Houston, Mexico City, San Antonio, San Diego and Texas.

Northwest Division: Colorado, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Oklahoma City and Saint Louis.

Pacific Division: Los Angeles Angels and Dodgers, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle.

The regular season is contracted to 154 games, including three 4-game series vs. 4 of 5 division opponents = 48 + four 4-game series vs. the other division opponent ( alternated per season ) = 16 + one 3-game series vs. the other 30 teams = 90.

The 6 division winners, seeded 1 thru 6, each get 1st round byes, while the 4 wild cards, seeded 7 thru 10, play best 2 of 3 series', with all 3 games at the location of the higher seed. The rest of the post-season, including the World Series, is expanded to best 5 of 9, with a 3-4-2 format.

The World Series is played at a warm weather neutral site in November. Since there is no more American or National league, or conferences for that matter, then any 2 teams, even from the same division such as the Rangers and Astros, could meet in the World Series.

The designated hitter rule becomes universal. Rosters are expanded to 30 players for the entire regular season and post-season. The amateur draft is expanded to include international prospects. Each organization will be limited to 1 Class A affiliate ( no more Class A-Advanced or Class A-Short Season ) and 2 rookie league affiliates.
