Scott Feldman to the Houston Astros -- former Texas Rangers starting pitcher Scott Feldman has reportedly agreed to a 3 year, $30 million deal with the Houston Astros.
Feldman, who turns 31 in February, was a 30th round pick in the 2003 draft, signed as a draft-and-follow, was converted to a sidearming reliever as a professional, then converted back to starting, and had an up-and-down (though generally positive) tenure with the Rangers before signing as a free agent with the Chicago Cubs last season on a one year deal.
The Astros are clearly not interested in another 100 loss season, and are willing to start spending money, acquiring Dexter Fowler from the Rockies and now committing to a starter who, if nothing else, should be able to give them 180 innings and keep them from wiping on their bullpen on a regular basis.
