Jonah Keri has released his annual MLB Top 50 Trade Value list (you can read part 1 here and part 2 here) and three Texas Rangers make the cut.
Third baseman Adrian Beltre, who has three years left at $51 million (assuming he hits the mark for his vesting option in 2016 to actually vest) on his current deal, is #46 on the list.
Shortstop Jurickson Profar is grouped with Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts at #32 (with Bogaerts at #31). Profar drops from #18 last year due to his offensive struggles, and its still weird to see him below guys like Bogaerts, Wil Myers and Manny Machado -- peers who he had been considered clearly ahead of not long ago.
Pitcher Yu Darvish is grouped with Chris Sale (they are 11th and 10th, respectively) as young aces under team control. Darvish was #33 last year, and Keri says Darvish has established himself "as a perennial Cy Young candidate." The only pitcher ahead of Yu, besides Chris Sale, is Jose Fernandez.
Derek Holland makes the Honorable Mention list, and Keri also references Martin Perez as someone who nearly cracked the list.
