Colby Lewis Pulled Off Rehab Assignment

Triceps tendinitis has Colby Lewis back on the shelf

Per Jeff Wilson on Twitter, the Rangers have stopped Colby Lewis's rehab assignment.

Lewis threw two innings last Thursday at Las Vegas in the first outing of his rehab stint, but then had his bullpen session this past weekend canceled because of triceps pain.

Lewis reportedly was given an anti-inflammatory injection, and won't throw again until this weekend, with the hope being that he can start his rehab assignment back up on Monday or Tuesday.

Pitchers are limited to 30 days on a rehab assignment, and with there likely being a 10 day gap between his first rehab appearance and what would be, at earliest, his second rehab assignment, pulling him back allows the Rangers to re-start that clock.

The hope had been that Lewis would be ready to re-join the rotation at the end of May or the start of June, but at this point, it looks like the second week of June would probably be the earliest Lewis would be ready.
