Cameron: Beltre shows 2004 was no fluke

Jeff Gross

Dave Cameron writes that Adrian Beltre's performance for the past calendar year is similar to his performance in 2004

Dave Cameron has an interesting post over at FanGraphs, talking about Adrian Beltre's historic 2004 season (one that is often dismissed as a "fluke"), and comparing it to his performance over the last 365 days.

The upshot of it is that Beltre's performance since August 14 of last year is right in line with what he did in 2004.  Because it is spread out over part of 2012 and part of 2013, the same notice isn't taken of it as when he exploded in 2004, but the bottom line is quite similar.

Check it out.
