Saturday morning Rangers stuff

Saturday morning Rangers news and links

So, another one run loss for the Rangers, where the offense struggled and there were questionable managerial decisions late.

Neftali Feliz came into the 8th inning with the bases loaded and two outs and promptly walked Alcides Escobar -- who had 17 unintentional walks all year coming into the game -- on four pitches, bringing in the winning run.

There were a lot of people asking where Tanner Scheppers was.  The answer was that Scheppers wasn't available except in an emergency, because he pitched in three games in a row, with the third game being on Thursday, when the Rangers had a five run lead against the Rays.

The biggest problem from yesterday was the offense being useless, once again, but using Scheppers and Joe Nathan yesterday, each for the third day in a row, was a decision that was questionable at the time and came back to bite the Rangers last night.

Jeff Wilson, in his game story, takes the bullpen to task for not doing its job last night.

T.R. Sullivan's game story talks about Neftali Feliz not being able to throw strikes.

Todd Wills has his Rapid Reaction at the ESPN Dallas blog.

Evan Grant has a piece examining the questionable bullpen decisions Ron Washington has made the last few games.

Grant (or the DMN headline writer) says the Jim Adduci experiment failed, and thus David Murphy is going to play left field.

The S-T's notes talk about Elvis Andrus hitting, why Joe Nathan pitched on Thursday with a six run lead, and A.J. Pierzynski's bruised hand.

Sullivan's notes talk about Joe Nathan wanting a multi-year deal to return to the Rangers, David Murphy returning to left field, the catchers throwing out base runners, and the workload of the bullpen.
