World Cup Day 6 (6.17.14)

Group H will cap off the first-round games of the group stage, and Group A will get the second games of the round-robin started this afternoon. The first game of the day features Belgium--a country with expertise in beer, chocolate, and pastries--against Algeria--a country with expertise in hydrocarbons and existentialist expatriates. The game kicks off on ESPN at 12:00 ET from the Estádio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte.

SBNation previews the game here.

The latest handicap at Ladbrokes is Belgium 1/3, Draw 4/1, and Algeria 19/2.

The second game of the day involves Group A co-leaders Brazil and Mexico, with the winner assuring itself a spot in the knockout stage. There are people who think Mexico is winning this game--presumably both because Brazil looked shaky in their win over Croatia and Mexico finished off Cameroon with panache. Those people are wrong. The teams play at 3:00 ET on ESPN from the Estádio Castelão in Fortaleza.

SBNation previews the game here.

The latest handicap at Ladbrokes is Brazil 1/3, Draw 9/2, and Mexico 8/1.
