Yu Darvish, the Texas Rangers pitcher currently on the disabled list, will make a rehab start for the Frisco Roughriders on Monday, according to John Blake on Twitter. Darvish will throw 3 innings or 45 pitches for Frisco, which will be playing at the NW Arkansas Travelers.
Pitching for the Rangers on Monday will be Nick Martinez, which means that, should Darvish's outing go well, and should the Rangers feel he's ready to return to the majors, Darvish could theoretically start in place of Martinez at home against the Twins on Saturday, July 9. Otherwise, he would presumably be activated at some point after the All Star Break, after another rehab start or two.
