T.R. Sullivan mailbag up

There's a new T.R. Sullivan mailbag up...

Nothing earth-shattering, but some interesting things there, particularly in regards to Sullivan saying to wait six weeks before anyone starts talking trade...

Check it out...

Adam,
Can you add questions about the Rangers and Roger Clemens to Justin Thompson, Rusty Greer, and Jeff Zimmerman to list of questions to make fun of?

6 weeks for trades?
I understand no trades until June, and June trades being fairly rare, but when you are 10 games under, you fit in that rare group that can consider June trades.

The Reason they wait 6 weeks
They want the local DFW fans to think they are still trying to win and keep them coming to tbia.  If they start selling now or soon, the myth is busted, and fans will stop showing up, that's the thinking anyway, I think.

Agree
re Millwood and Padilla.  They're Exhibit A in the 2007 abortion.

Someone mentioned in another diary
about possibly trading Millwood since the starter market is so high.  At first, I thought this was retarted, but the more I thought about it, if there is any real interest and we can get a good package like the UUU package from FLA, let's do it.  Millwood's only here 2 more years anyway right?  It's not like we're going to be contending in 2009 the way things sit right now.

not like w're going to be contending in 2009
that's a horrible attitude.

Probably realistic though

Millwood...
IIRC 2 more years with a club option for a 3rd, which we would surely exercise.

Vesting option
Basically, if he doesn't miss a lot of time with injuries, his 5th year option vests.

Millwood and Teix
Would make a helluva package for a contender looking for pitching and power.  Even if it took a multiteam deal on the inbound side.

millwood
I'm not 100% sure, but i'd bet he has a no trade clause or at least a list of teams he won't go to.

then again if he's being dealt it's likely to a contender (though i doubt he gets traded)
