I'd take my chances
with Sosa in RF, Byrd in LF, and Cat DHing.

Lineup
That is about as strong a lineup as we can field...not that this is a good thing, but hopefully we can make Haren earn his shutout today rather than just handing it to him by playing Stewart and Kata.  BTW, am I the only one who would like to see more consistency in the batting order?

Oh great
a AAA callup calling balls and strikes.  At least we don't have one of our wussies out there, it would already be in their head.  Although I bet MY and his fragile psyche takes the collar today.

Or not how about that

I will admit I was wrong
obviously the AAA umpire is not in his head.

lol
The Rangers have bigger problems than MY. I admitt he is not hitting well this year but our pitching is just bad.

Kendall
If JD had traded for him he would be eviscerated for it.  I guess Beane has made enough good deals to get a pass.

Pitch Count
Runs would be nice, but a 24 pitch 1st inning for Haren isn't bad.

in walks allowed. I know, it's shocking.

I am shocked our starting pitching gave up runs in the first inning.

Anyone watching?
MLB Gameday says Michael Young doubled to 2nd baseman Scutaro, and Lofton scored from first.

Is that correct?

OK then..
How did he double to the 2nd baseman?  The ball didn't go into the outfield?

Young's double
It was actually a sinking liner to right field. Buck dove, couldn't catch it, and the ball kicked 15 feet in toward the infield. Buck never found the ball again, and I guess Scutaro picked it up.

who is the long man in the bullpen today?
If you don't have fun it's your own damn fault.

has to be Littleton
followed by Francisco, and Otsuka.

they just said on the radio that Loe was up and
stretching in the bullpen.  Would he really be avaliable to pitch today?

well he's scheduled to start on Friday
... seems like a bad idea to pitch him in relief today.

by LukeR on May 30, 2007 3:56 PM CDT up reply actions

nice finish to that inning by Karonka
If his control was a little more consistent,  he could pitch up here.  When he spots his fastball and can throw his change anywhere near the plate, he gets ground balls and swinging strikes.

exactly
they completely unravel.  They were doing a great job of making Haren work and giving themselves a shot at getting to a depleted bullpen.  Instead they start to press and now he's looking like cy young again.

They give us a win ...
... and then it's straight back to a lopsided loss where everything they do just makes their situation look more hopeless.

This team is such a kick in the nuts.

by Athos on May 30, 2007 4:38 PM CDT reply actions

Unbelievable.
He has 60 or so pitches after 3 innings and still finishes 8.  Yay offense!

Yup....
pathetic.  Almost as pathetic as their defense.

I like our chances...
I see at least a two game losing streak on the horizon.  Vicente "A.D.D." Padilla pitches tomorrow night against someone named, Cha Seung Baek.  Never mind that we never heard of this guy, the Rangers will make him look like the second coming of Cy Young.

Winning no longer matters!
We're playing for:
  1. The Best Draft Pick Losing Can Buy.
  2. An unprecedented "freedom to trade" Vets with minimal fan backlash. Imagine the Tex issue with a .500 team? I needs my FREEDOM!
  3. Finally. No more mediocrity trap, we have problem, we know it, it's time for change.
  4. Wash is fine. In fact, because he has no experience, he's perfect! See #1.
  5. The other suckers? They're fine. See #1. Part of the plan.
