Rockies place Torrealba on DL

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies placed catcher Yorvit Torrealba on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday with a meniscus tear in his left knee. Torrealba, 30, is batting .246 with six home runs and 31 runs batted in 70 games for Colorado this season. He last played on August 25 against San Francisco. To replace Torrealba on the roster, the team recalled catcher Adam Melhuse from Triple-A Colorado Springs. It is his second stint with the Rockies this season as he was also with the club from August 14-22, but did not have any appearances at the plate.
