Recap: Seattle vs. Oakland

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Felix Hernandez was solid in six innings and Miguel Cairo had a double, a triple, drove in two runs and scored twice to lead the Seattle Mariners in an 8-4 rout of the Oakland Athletics.
Hernandez (8-8) gave up three runs on four hits while fanning seven and walking two batters to get the win for the Mariners, who earned a split in the series. J.J. Putz was brought in to record the final out of the game and earned his ninth save of the year in the process.
Jose Lopez had a three-run homer for Seattle, which has won two of three on the heels of a seven-game slide. Kenji Johjima added a solo shot while Raul Ibanez and Ichiro Suzuki ended with an RBI each.
Dan Meyer (0-2) was saddled with the loss after he gave up four runs on three hits in five frames.
Jack Hannahan had a pair of solo home runs, notching his first career multi- homer game, for the A's, who have dropped six of their last nine games. Rob Bowen added a solo blast for Oakland and Eric Patterson drove in the other run in defeat.
Hannahan crushed a solo shot in the first inning and repeated the feat in the third to give Oakland an early 2-0 cushion.
Seattle took the lead in the home third. Johjima and Bryan LaHair opened the frame with consecutive walks. Cairo then hit a two-run triple to right and crossed home as Suzuki singled to second, making it 3-2.
Bowen's first homer of the year, in the fifth, tied the game at three, but Johjima led off the home half with a homer to put Seattle up by one.
Kirk Saarloos was on the hill for Oakland to start the sixth and gave up a three-run homer to Lopez that scored Ibanez and Adrian Beltre to make it 7-3.
In the top of the seventh, Cesar Jimenez relieved Hernandez and put runners in scoring position as he gave up a single to Daric Barton and a double to Cliff Pennington. Patterson then grounded out to score Barton and make it 7-4.
The Mariners got their four-run lead back as Cairo led off the bottom of the seventh with a double. Suzuki's bunt moved him to third and Ibanez's single allowed Cairo to cross home.
Lopez tied a career high for homers in a season with 11...Oakland left six men on base, while Seattle stranded three runners...Time of game was 2:36.
