Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Chicago White Sox third baseman Joe Crede has been activated off the 15-day disabled list.
Crede had been sidelined since July 22 with back lumbar inflammation.
In 90 games entering Monday's action against Baltimore, Crede is batting .255 with 17 homers and 54 runs batted in. He was 2-for-16 in five games during a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.
The White Sox opened a roster spot by placing outfielder DeWayne Wise on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left adductor muscle. He hurt the groin muscle on August 20 against Seattle.
Wise, in 35 games for the Sox this season, is batting .288 with two homers and seven RBI.
