Vince Cotroneo interview at AN
Over at AN, Tyler has an interview with new A's radio announcer Vince Cotroneo.
As you may remember, Cotroneo was let go by the Rangers after the 2003 season, despite doing solid work. From the outside, it appeared that at the time, Mike Cramer and his team of trained monkeys on the business side of the organization were casting around to find someone to blame for the rapidly diminishing fan interest in the team, and decided that a solid, professional broadcaster on the radio team should be sacrificed so they could get someone with more "passion" (which most folks read to be more of a homer).
Anyway, if you are interested, you can check out the interview by clicking on the link above...

Cotroneo and the Rangers
I have a question for you guys in other parts of the country....do other teams have the tag team format with their radio play-by-play guys where they trade back and forth after 3 innings? I would just as soon have Nadel be the full time play-by-play guy and have a color guy as the other announcer.

and even worse
Milo Hamilton
Because he doesn't provide play-by-play...he sort of comments on and reacts to the action while it is happening, without actually describing what is happening.
And he doesn't give the score often enough.

The good news is
Then again, even before he got blind and senile he sucked.

You got me on that one
I"d have cared more about that...
