Well
the better team won end of story...the refs sucked yes but our MVP was a no show when he was needed.

by cjbray on Jun 20, 2006 11:04 PM CDT reply actions

well the thing is
the refs were awful but we still easily could have won 5 games in this series yet we only won 2.

by Agreen07 on Jun 20, 2006 11:04 PM CDT up reply actions

Your right
our team lost most these games. The refs didnt help but 2 points from Dirk in the 4th quarter? We should have won but we lost

by cjbray on Jun 20, 2006 11:06 PM CDT up reply actions

the sad thing about all of this
i think we beat the best team in the nba...the spurs.

by Agreen07 on Jun 20, 2006 11:08 PM CDT up reply actions

Im as pissed as
anyone but im truly glad its over.

Hey
we'll win it all next year.

a long
offseason...a long offseason with a bitter taste in my mouth...you never know how many times you will get a chance to compete for the title...

Not with this team
Jason Terry sucks. He wil get hot once every 2 weeks, but he is no where near where he thinks he is. His shot selection is absolutely brutal not to mention all of the rushed shots tonight in the 2nd half. Just ridiculous.

If I was an outsider...
If I was not familiar at all with the NBA and watched all 6 games of the finals, I'd have trouble seeing Dirk as any kind of star, but Terry being our leader and best player.  Dirk tanked.  Let's face it.

The Heat were a better team all-around.  No doubt about it.  Better coach, better superstar, more aggression, better lane penetration, better composure.

Huh?
 "If I was an outsider...
If I was not familiar at all with the NBA..."

Face this, man. Jason Terry is a mediocre, one dimensional point guard who is inferior at the most overwhelmingly important thing a PG does: make everyone around him better.

The so called "Jet" was atrocious except for a brief interval in the 1st quarter. 2 for his last 17. 2 for his last 17. And Orton, that's all that dude has ever been good for, perimeter shooting. Can't pass, can't slash/penetrate, can't defend. His lameass made the only 2 good penetrations this series tonight and got swatted on both. When your miss count is up around 10 in a row or so, and you are THE POINT GUARD, perhaps its time to make a play some other way. Harris knows, he'll be a stud in a couple of years. Nash is still on this team and we sweep...

And finally, no, the Heat weren't a better all-around team, the coaching edge was minute, but you're right about the penetration/superstar. Dirk needs to learn what Duncan and Wade have already mastered: Be a star, charge the lane, and the zebras will hand you the game on a platter...the bastards...

Name all the point guards
currently in the NBA who truly make their teammates better in the PG sense.

I can think of three, maybe four.

There are others who think pass first but are a liability on defense and on offense as a scorer.

point guards
Nash, Kidd, Billups, Bibby, Cassell, Parker, Miller, Ford, Hinrich...

That's so asinine
Do you not remember Terry slashing to the hole at all last night?  He penetrated more than anyone last night.  More than anyone the whole series.  He seemed to be the only one moving on the offensive end last night...the only one who understands off-the-ball movement.

I think you're a little emotional right now.  Nash would not have guaranteed a sweep.  If we had Nash, we would have gotten beat by SA.  The only reason we  got beat by Miami was Dwyane Wade.

Well Dwayne Wade
the refs on Dwayne Wade, and Dirk looking like a role player rather than a star.

Ugh
I didn't agree with a single thing you said there.

I guess its pretty pointless discussing it, now, though, so I'm dropping it...

Terry sucked
but who didn't tonight? I think Shawn Bradley could have done a better job than Damp tonight, and Dirk and Howard both took their fair share of retarded shots.

Okay
so, what else is on TV...

by Longhorn on Jun 20, 2006 11:13 PM CDT reply actions

You can see
the Rangers get screwed out of a 2R game-winning HR that even the Sportscenter guys said was fair. But that'd just make your day worse.

I don't think I have ever seen
the Mavs look so tired.

Dirk can't jump.  By the fourth quarter, he really couldn't jump.  Way too many 3pt shots taken tonight.

One last chirp at the refs: How can Wade punch Dirk in the chest and receive free throws?

by rooster on Jun 20, 2006 11:16 PM CDT reply actions

stuff like that
will turn off a lot of people from watching the game.

Stern is doing a happy dance now...sigh

Samir: Hmm... well why don't you just go by Mike instead of Michael? Michael Bolton: No way. Why should I change? He's the one who sucks.

thank god the season's over
the NBA is garbage. i couldn't take watching another 3 hours of garbage like that.

NBA: No Basketball Allowed
ME: Hey, honey, wanna watch millionairs shoot free throws tonight?
WIFE: Do you think I'm an idiot?  Wouldn't I have to be to enjoy that?

by rooster on Jun 21, 2006 8:45 AM CDT up reply actions

I can't sleep
the mavs have gotten to me to the point where I can't sleep. I want to light myself on fire, but I can't help thinking that that's exactly what David Stern wants...
The refs helped, but Dirk choked, and I'll never forgive him for it.
