Last night
Who in the hell would have thought Ryan Howard would win?
you trying to tell me jesus christ can't hit a curve ball?

by chief on Jul 11, 2006 6:49 PM CDT   0 recs

I would
have called it if anyone cared enough about the HR Derby to start a thread.
Pass the Buck, Fire Showalter!

i actually liked
wright...
but that has a lot more to do with the fact that i like his style, from what i know about him.  not that i thought he would hit 16 in the first round
Troy I.

by tdi1985 on Jul 11, 2006 7:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I will watch....
It's still a baseball game so I will watch it but I hate almost every outside aspect of it.  Not every team should get a player if they don't deserve one.  The fans shouldn't have the final say in who starts at all but especially because.......The outcome shouldn't decide home field in the World Series.

by Chris Martin on Jul 11, 2006 7:10 PM CDT   0 recs

I almost forgot
Having pitchers in the lineup in this game is also stupid.

by Chris Martin on Jul 11, 2006 7:11 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

it might as well be
a DH spot, no pitcher will hit.
it will actually be a simple way of getting people into the game.
Troy I.

by tdi1985 on Jul 11, 2006 7:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

a Rainout?
that would be just awesome. Who would get homefield if that happend?? LOL.

Troy I.

by tdi1985 on Jul 11, 2006 7:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

They shoulda had ...
... Craig Bueno, his wife and maybe a box full of kittens spread around the infield and had Frankie Francisco and Doug Brocail 'coach' the HS kid in a chair toss for a million bucks.

Penny
Pretty nice late-60s Nolan Ryan impersonation going on.  Nothing but fastballs.

by Lucas on Jul 11, 2006 7:52 PM CDT   0 recs

does anyone else think
that chevrolet commercial is catchy?
Troy I.

by tdi1985 on Jul 11, 2006 7:53 PM CDT   0 recs

No
The old Chevy jingle is good.

Singing about rally monkeys and free agents pisses me off, though.

by Adam J. Morris on Jul 11, 2006 8:01 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

hah
that is a reasonable observation...
i'm not old enough for the old chevy jingle though

by Agreen07 on Jul 11, 2006 8:08 PM CDT   0 recs

few situations
that i would be content with vlad hitting a home run
Troy I.

by tdi1985 on Jul 11, 2006 8:08 PM CDT   0 recs

Jason Bay is a wuss.
He should have jumped for that. GMJ would have had that.

Ummmm...
WTF?

I thought that stupid talking baseball was the worst thing they could come up with.

And now they are using the Wiggles?

by Adam J. Morris on Jul 11, 2006 8:10 PM CDT   0 recs

Because of our niece...
I've now got a little bit of a crush on Laura Berkner of the Laura Berkner band.

I also find myself singing "I'm gonna catch you" to myself at odd times.

She looks better...
on Noggin.  That's... well, that picture is just terrible.

by benmor78 on Jul 11, 2006 8:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Judging from her videos...
on Noggin, I bet she wears fun underwear.

by benmor78 on Jul 11, 2006 8:22 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

did we really need
the heads, shoulders, knees and toes routine?
Troy I.

by tdi1985 on Jul 11, 2006 8:10 PM CDT   0 recs

at least
scooter explained a fastball or a curveball.  What was the point of the head, shoulders, knees and toes thing?

by Agreen07 on Jul 11, 2006 8:12 PM CDT   0 recs

evidently
vlad is the master at using his head shoulders knees and toes
Troy I.

I'm big
on people dying in fires in general. Some people just have it coming.

David Wright is pretty good.

And "Futurama"...
But thank you for bringing back that overrated dog's breakfast known as "Family Guy"...

by Adam J. Morris on Jul 11, 2006 8:39 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Futurama sucked too...
I'm just going to watch animal reality series from now on.  Bring on Meerkats and Big Cat Diaries.

Family Guy
It's a Simpsons rip off in a lot of ways, but I have to tell you, I laugh a lot more when I watch Family Guy than I do when I watch the Simpsons.

With all this talk
about Wells with the Rangers, we tend to forget that he has rarely talked about coming to Texas. In fact, every time he is asked about it, he's rather indifferent and nonchalant.

maybe because he is under contract with the BlueJays. That would just be my guess though...

Well usually
guys like Tori Hunter and other players will talk about wanting to go home and so on. I never hear that out of Vernon though. Still I hope he signs.
