It's amazing to me
that the people over at Halo's Heaven never predict their team losing in their game day threads.
enough is enough. i've had it with these snakes.

by chief on Aug 6, 2006 2:07 PM CDT   0 recs

Actually...
I think I saw one yesterday that said we'd win 10-5.  But it's not often.

by rangers85 on Aug 6, 2006 2:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I predict
They will lose today.  Texas will reverse yesterday's score, give or take a few.

I think Carlos Lee awakens.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 2:18 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

This team is so bad....
The Rangers have no pitching at all, and their hitters have no clutch in them, batting average is fine, but Mike Young cannot be the only clutch hitter, not if they want to win, Carlos has been a bust, no one will pitch to Tex (and why should they with no hit hank behind him) this team is lost and this season is over and done with

by TexasGonzo on Aug 6, 2006 3:33 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I was wrong about today, obviously
BUT...

Always remember, there's a reason why the division's all bunched up the way it is.  Nobody's any good!  The Rangers are still in this thing.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 3:36 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

by Scott S on Aug 6, 2006 2:22 PM CDT   0 recs

MUST WIN
I think today is a must win if we really wanna stay in this.  with oakland playing seattle (a team they own) we have to win this game especially with Eaton on the mound

GO RANGERS

Let the young guys play

by bigruss on Aug 6, 2006 2:22 PM CDT   0 recs

So I have the TV on, waiting for the game to come on.  An infomercial for a hair-restoration product is playing.  It has all these before and after photos...you know, one with a huge bald spot and right next to that the same guy (presumably) with a full head o' hair.

On the screen next to each of these photos it says "Results not Typical...Your results may vary".

Found that pretty amusing.  It's amazing the shit I see on this channel while waiting for Rangers games.

Were you
watching happy days?
All is Wells...

by miles on Aug 6, 2006 2:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Nope
...in Austin some of the games come on a leased access channel, although it appears that it will not today because now they've switched to a weight loss infomercial.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 2:35 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

you dont wanna see this game....
trust me it has gone down the tubes fast just like this season. 8 nothing last time i looked

Thank God for Lewin and Grieve
I thought i was going to hang myself with that ass kissing, Vladdy Daddy bullshit, turd Rex doing the game yesterday
where'd you get the Canadian tuxedo?

We aren't alone

He even had some Lewin love.

"A good example of a great call today was the Rangers television announcers when Jason Tyner made an unbelievable over-the-wall home run robbing catch and they got just as excited as if a Ranger player did it.  It's how it should be.  You can be a homer without being a joke.  Apparently Physioc and Hudler never learned that."

by Wes Cox on Aug 6, 2006 2:35 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

good to know
that we arent alone in the hatred of hudler.
i've watched some national games lewin did, he really is good at being neutral when he has to be
Pimps be damned, it's harder out here for a Rangers fan!

Blackouts
I don't know why, but it seems every Sunday game is blacked out on DishTV.  I don't receive kdfi as part of my normal programming, but I can usually find the game on one of the sports alternative channels, except Sunday.

Anyone else experience that?

enough is enough. i've had it with these snakes.

Why can't the
Rangers have good ML young talent SP?  Not fair..
All is Wells...

by miles on Aug 6, 2006 2:36 PM CDT   0 recs

I've been wondering that too.
Is it our scouts' fault for not drafting the right pitchers?  Or is it our farm's fault for not developing them properly?
enough is enough. i've had it with these snakes.

if they could add
a power hitting 1st and 3rd baseman, that team would be scary

by kumar75150 on Aug 6, 2006 2:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

offesnse
is still pretty bad though. if rivera returns to the mediocre platoon outfielder he has been throughout his career it is one of the worst in baseball.

by selppuc on Aug 6, 2006 2:46 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Saunders
looks like he has awesome stuff

by kumar75150 on Aug 6, 2006 2:42 PM CDT   0 recs

carlos lee
come on man, get with it.  that was a terrible AB.

by DSheppard on Aug 6, 2006 2:43 PM CDT   0 recs

Schedules
I was looking over the schedules, it looks like they favor the rangers with mostly division play, the angels and a's seem to have more games against foes like the sox, detroit, boston,

WOuld y'all agree?

I think a win today would be great, but their not out of it if they lose, they do need to take 2 of 3 from oakland, esp if seatle loses again

by Pun on Aug 6, 2006 2:43 PM CDT   0 recs

Oakland
if the rangers lose today they need to sweep oakland honestly

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 2:44 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yes
they go out 2 out of 3, they only gain one game and they have the most volatile SP in the division

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 2:48 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

There's six weeks left in the season
They shouldn't get swept and winning only one of three would hurt.  But they don't need to sweep necessarily.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 2:51 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

sched
with how this team historically plays against the west, and then look at the rest of their schedule, they need a sweep

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 2:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

intelligence
nice rebuttal, just look at their schedule, i can explain it to you if you want me to, they are sometimes tough to read

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 2:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

They don't need a sweep...
with so many games to play left.  You never know what could happen between now and the end of the month.

by chase1971 on Aug 6, 2006 3:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

intelligence
I'm not short in that department.  You just have a flare for the dramatic.

There are lots of ways for the Rangers to win or lose the division as the whole division beats up on itself.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 3:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

HAHA
first of all, it is FLAIR, not flare as in road flare, thanks for proving my point......see people who are like anything can happen its still a long season, etc....Take the season right now, get even and then go.  The rangers always fade in the heat of Texas near the end of the season, they need as many wins as possible ASAP

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 3:09 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

So...
if we don't sweep, you believe our season is done?

by chase1971 on Aug 6, 2006 3:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

No
but it is on life support

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 3:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Sweeps
I'd say that if we GET swept, our season may be in trouble.  That would really put some distance between us and first place.
enough is enough. i've had it with these snakes.

by chief on Aug 6, 2006 3:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Listen, asshole
Pointing out my spelling errors just because I disagree with you is more than a little childish.  No need to resort to this.  If you must know, my attention was a little divided.

They just need to be in first place after 162 games.  Yes, they should win as many games as they can, but it's ridiculous to suggest they need a sweep in August to be on top at the end of September.

The Rangers aren't usually in the race in September, so that's why they "fade".  You can point to 2004, but that was only one year.  The last time they were in the race before that, none of these players were Rangers.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 3:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

HAHA (again)
it wasnt a spelling error, it was an error of usage, this is a speling error.

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 3:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

It was a spelling error
...because I know the difference between the two words.  I simply spelled the wrong word.

But I guess you've never done such a thing...

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 3:24 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

THE FOLLOWING IS A CORRECTION OF THE ABOVE
First of all, it is "flair", not "flare" as in "road flare".  Thanks for proving my point.

See, people who are like "anything can happen; it's a long season, etc." [are wrong?  Can't be sure what he was saying -- ed.].  Take the season right now!  Get even and then go.

The Rangers always fade in the heat of Texas near the end of the season, so they need as many wins as possible, as soon as possible.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 3:29 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Ignorance is bliss i guess.... for you
That is purely a grammatical error and would be classified as a typo actually.  Your error is due to lack of intelligence.  If you were just simply misspelling a word, why did you spell flare (as in road flare) properly?  Hmmm, what an interesting question?

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 3:41 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

haha
Your post most certainly wasn't a typo.  It was a bunch of fragments.  If you're going to point out my mistakes and call my intelligence into question, it might be a good idea to write coherently.

Anyway, if I mistakenly typed the wrong word, would that not be considered a typo?  And is it hard to believe that an intelligent person whose attention was divided could make such an error?

It's plausible.  I think you're just being a dick.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 3:52 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Actually
It is not considered a typo, it is considered exactly what I initially pegged it as, an error of usage.  Go to Barnes and Noble and get a copy of the MLA handbook, read that, and then get back to me.

by booyahcaveman on Aug 6, 2006 3:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

You're right
It was an error of usage because a word was used incorrectly.  And that happened not because I'm stupid and don't know the difference between the words, but rather because I wasn't pay attention.

In that last post you should've used a colon in place of that second comma, by the way.  I'll stop short of calling you stupid and I won't question your mastery of the English language, though.  I'm sure it was just a mistake.

by Dustin on Aug 6, 2006 4:06 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hmmm....
This exchange makes me think of the new guy in prison getting in a fight his first day to show the other inmates he's a badass.

All is Wells...

by miles on Aug 6, 2006 2:49 PM CDT   0 recs

this is what i was talking about
walking Vlad is leading to big innings

by kumar75150 on Aug 6, 2006 2:49 PM CDT   0 recs

In that situation...
...it was the right call.

Anderson sucks.

by Adam J. Morris on Aug 6, 2006 2:51 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

my problem is
that with 2 outs, u are risking maybe one run if Vlad gets a hit.  By walking him, you are risking a big inning and letting the game out of control early.

Like you posted, "this game is over; im gonna find something else to do"

by kumar75150 on Aug 6, 2006 2:53 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

How are you risking any more of a big inning...
...with Anderson coming up instead of Vlad?

I don't really see it.

If it were someone who was any good coming up, yeah.

But Anderson sucks.  I'd much rather take my chances with him in that situation, than Vlad with the runner on second.

by Adam J. Morris on Aug 6, 2006 2:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

well
look how it has worked out the last 2 days.

You are just giving them an extra baserunner instead of having him earn his way on base.   Thats how its leading to a bigger inning.  Seems pretty obvious to me.

by kumar75150 on Aug 6, 2006 3:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm not saying walk him every time
I think in that situation, though, it makes sense to walk him.

by Adam J. Morris on Aug 6, 2006 3:06 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Like the man says.........
how's it working out the last couple of days ? You're always risking a bigger inning if more people are on base.

At least they attempted to pitch to him the 1st two games, (end results were much better).

Who gives a shit if he has some bullshit streak ?
It's about winning the damn game !

What's he hitting ? what's his OBP ? We upped it the last two days with 7 for 9 times on base. I don't understand it, so he hits .300 and on base maybe .360, he still makes an out over 6 out of 10 times.......why put him on every fucking time ?
You don't even really have to throw strikes ! He'll get himself out 3 outta those 6.

On the other hand, I'd like to know why this team is so Jekyll & Hyde ?

by tklawless on Aug 6, 2006 9:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

also...
Anderson and Rivera seem to be swinging pretty good bats right now.
