Rick Reilly leaving SI for ESPN

PrintLong-time SI writer Rick Reilly is leaving at the end of November, and will join ESPN in June, 2008, after his non-compete runs out.
Be interesting to see what Reilly does. I really enjoyed his articles and features in the late-80s and early-90s, when he focused on football and golf (the only two sports he really seemed to like). He was my favorite sportswriter for a while.
But once he went into the "Life of Reilly," back-page columnist role for SI, he seemed to get too treacly and preachy, and I've quit reading him, for the most part.
