PTBNL in Guzman deal is Chris Shelton
T.R. Sullivan says that the PTBNL in the Freddy Guzman trade is Chris Shelton.
Very solid pickup there. I've liked Shelton for a while, and he clearly had worn out his welcome in Detroit.
I expect Shelton to be the Opening Day first baseman.

Shelton was DFA'd last week

Solid Pickup
pretty good
Traded a guy who wasn't going to make a huge impact in the outfield mix next year for a guy who will most likely start at first next season.
This
It seems like just yesterday that Chris Shelton went 8-16 against us two years ago in the second series of the season. I became a fan of him after that. Good trade for both sides. Good job JD!
If I remember correctly...

Nice move by JD
I think I pointed out that Shelton would be a great pickup in another thread when he was DFA'ed.
Glad to see JD was on the ball for this one.
Shelton will be in his year 28 season and have 4 years until his FA.

That doesn't seem to jive with what I'm coming up with, or with what Adam is saying either, though. Any thoughts?

Barton
but i don't think he falls to them
i think they should make a real effort to get him
although if cat goes to left for shelton to be the everyday 1b, things would be crowded.

I wouldn't mind acquiring
He is completely blocked in LA. I wonder what it would cost.
At least...
I remember how much this guy pissed me off when he went all Vlad on us in that first series in '06.

Is that
i would love to get adam jones
although the way it was mentioned doesnt sound like its actually a possibility.
im not surprised RW likes milton since he was on the a's with him.
if bradley wasnt hurt i wouldnt be as opposed as most people would be, but i dont want to bet on a recovering injury prone guy with his issues. i wont be surprised if RW's influence and the lack of success getting other OFs made it happen though.
In that case
Catalanotto could play out there, and maybe Boggs.

3rd person!!!!
And I want Milton Bradley too. He's an OBP hog! I don't care if he is out the first couple weeks/months, that could give us a good look at our in-house candidates to fill the other two spots when Milton gets back.

luckily, gingerkids.org addresses this issue
A common misconception is that Ginger Kids' crotches are actually engulfed in flames. The truth is "fire crotch" comes from the fact that Ginger Kids have red pubic hair. It is similar to the nickname "Carrot Top".

the word "firecrotch" was coined...
by a friend of mine here in L A. Brandon Davis the richest kid in hollywood referred to Lindsay Lohan as
"firecrotch" a couple of years ago. Thats where the
word came from. It was all over the entertainment channels at the time and t-shirts were made shortly thereafter.
that's what i was thinking of actually
ha ha no it was Brandon..
has* a firecrotch
Really???
Don't think your friend was the first to use it, sorry.
It may have been used since ...

turning obscure words into popular words via

Derek
this reminds me of...
Veronica Corningstone: No, there's no way that's correct.
Ron Burgundy: I'm sorry, I was trying to impress you. I don't know what it means. I'll be honest, I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago.
Veronica Corningstone: Doesn't it mean Saint Diego?
Ron Burgundy: No. No.
Veronica Corningstone: No, that's - that's what it means. Really.
Ron Burgundy: Agree to disagree.

Great to see the Rangers...
Seriously though this is a great move by JD as many others have already stated. You get a 1B stop-gap who could surprise someone, and if he doesn't, who gives a shit you just gave up Freddy.
How Pathetic
Someone please get an adult in here to run this crappy organization.
I've got a 100 dollar bill in my pocket I'm will to give 10 to 1 odds on that this franchise will never finish above .500 as long as this incompetent fool is the GM.
i'll take that betu p
I pay you 10 if I win and you pay me 100 if you lose? or 100/1000 respectively?
Math and Odds
another bet on this board by someone who will never pay me.
I pay you 10 if I win and you pay me 100 if you lose? or 100/1000 respectively?
Just 2 comments:
- How do you know I would never pay you?
- I said I had a hundred with 10 to 1 odds. That means if you lose, you pay me a hundred. If you win, I pay you a 1,000.
