4/23/07 game day thread
No lineup yet, but I'm tired of waiting for it to go up...
I'm guessing Wilkerson is back in the lineup, with Sammy or Cruz sitting today...
Kevin Millwood v. Cha Baek...
Go Rangers...

Further evidence in support of the Tortoise.
Whether he's a Rally Tortoise or a Slump Busting Tortoise remains to be seen, but he's definitely a tortoise.

I've been wondering about that.

Why throw guys out there
this is stupid
well its not like i dont like wash anymore.
sexson absolutely nailed that pitch, its pure luck this game isnt 6-4.
Well, if you put frankfrank in now,
If Wash Gets Canned
o How dumb it was to walk Hank to get to Kinlser, Hargrove. You idiot.
o How absurd it was to bring in Feldman, Wash. You idiot.
Maybe these people know some baseball. Nah.
That's the thing about baseball
its time
this turtle watches every ranger game (well.. is in the same room as the tv).. he has ranger influence.
That's supposed to be a good thing?
by Dustin on Apr 23, 2007 9:26 PM CDT up reply actions
er....
either that or youn and tex's slumps are too powerful to overcome two at bats in a row.
Yeah
But I'm afraid your rally turtle may have a negative effect:
- Has watched every Rangers game this year
- Rangers can't hit, and haven't hit basically all year.
by Dustin on Apr 23, 2007 9:29 PM CDT up reply actions
I was not
I said MY and Tex flopped on the at bats and Sosa messed up as in my GRRR

Damn, we're not going to win games on a regualar basis if Mike and Tex don't get out of this bad awful slump. Cat and Laird too.
You can't

Laird OPS = .327
I don't know why but I found that amusing.
by Arnold Babar on Apr 24, 2007 7:55 AM CDT reply actions
They really need
fair
Well,
yeah
The catcher not hitting is the least of the problems with the rangers. The middle of the order not hitting is a much larger issue imo
Seems he hit fine
seems he hit fine
post hoc ergo propter hoc - this doesn't get used enough on this board.
I don't believe
I do think there is evidence to suggest that Gerald Laird's performance is hurting the team.
yes
playing stewart who may be a slight defensive downgrade can't hurt anymore. at least let them switch every other game...or let stewart catch the vetaran pitchers and have laird catch loe/tejeda/mccarthy. stewart won't bat worse than .092 or whatever laird is hitting. there are pitchers in the NL that are batting better than that.
as for michael young and cat...they have a track record and you can only wait for them to get on track.
tex is getting better, he's up to .260. he just needs to start hitting bombs.
hurting the team
as stated before, his performance alone probably isn't costing us games. while i haven't exactly outlined a point on why you should stick with laird, i can't see the argument for changing him other than, "what we have isn't working now." seems as though lots of things aren't really working and we are sticking by them in this lineup.
I'm more concerned about a hitter who's batting
:) - Obligatory smiley showing I don't mean whatever mean
spiritedness is likely contained in the preceding post
Not me......
Laird is the one that's 180 points off
Young is about 150 points short.
