Lol...
I think the loss is just getting to you, I bet you will change you mind later...

I gotta say I agree
I'm not it favor of the blow it up mode, but decisions for this year should be geared toward making the team better next year.

i rather do it that way
then be like this year after year after year...

by Longhorn on May 12, 2007 5:46 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

maybe
if so, we will get a lot for Tex, Millwood and Aki.

by Longhorn on May 12, 2007 5:45 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

And maybe Gagne
could be a nice one year rental for a team in need.

Sign a guy for one year, then flip him at the deadline. Similar to the Urbina situation. We got a nice return on that.

If Sosa keeps hitting
Maybe a team will take a flier on him also.

Still too soon....
as down on this team as I am I still think you have to give them until middle of June.

That may be
But the real opportunity to restructure was rejected about the dealine in 2005 in favor of trying to win "now", then repeated a year later for the same reason.

It's the 4-H thing.  Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, halitosis, and hydrogen atoms.

Time does funny things. The worst of which is, it keeps moving when you don't.

Yup
I was just thinking this last night. Today's game made me a true believer.

Trade Tex.
Trade Aki, Gagne and Wilk.
See what offers are out there for Millwood.
See if anyone might be interested in taking Blalock off our hands.

I wonder what kind of package Detroit might be willing to put together for Tex and Aki?

Would the Mets be interested in Millwood?

Too bad we extended MY... he'd bring a nice return back for sure.

No team would give
The Rangers a top or mid level prospect for Wilk.

well
I'd be happy to get a bag of balls for him or cruz.

Oakland would
especially with their OF situation.

Maybe not
but it's worth a shot.

According to SI.com
the Padres may have some interest in Blalock.  Guess we can get raped again on another deal.

Other GM's
...must be licking their chops at the prospect of having JD call them wanting to trade (given his past history). Like having a sucker walk into the shop looking to buy.

Word
Really he's only had one horrible trade.

But damn it was a horrible trade.

That time
...when you recognize that it's time to turn toward the next season and do things to benefit that team but the team isn't ready to accept that, whether it's for a worthy reason or not, is a frustrating time.

They probably are done,
but might as well wait for closer to the All Star Break to part out this team.

Signing Sosa in Spring Training may pay dividends in terms of minor leaguers.

Yep. I'm down and out as a fan.
I need to find some interesting analysis to do; otherwise, I better just sign off for the rest of the season.  I think I might become a bandwagon Brewers fan.  It wouldn't be all that different from rooting for the Rangers.

This team was done
when it broke camp with Sosa, Lofton, Cruz, Wilkerson, and Hairston as its OFers.

That's ridiculous
Proclaiming them as done this early?  I don't think so.

Whether they're done or not
It would be exciting to have a bonafide top 5 pick in the 2008 draft.

These guys are so much more interesting to follow in the Minors...

x
Thank goodness for the Golden State Warriors.  Because their amazing run I haven't had a chance to pay much attention to our Rangers and their terrible first six weeks.

Yeah, I can thank DirecTV's incompetence
I've only seen about 10 games. I usually see 4-5 a week...
