Teagarden is 6th best catcher?

Weiters as the #1 catcher? Jeff Clement as #2? Ahead of Soto and Towles who will be MLB rookies in '08 and have already shown the ability to hit well at the Major League level (in small sample sizes)??? Seriously?

One could make a very strong argument for or against Weiters being ahead of Teagarden, but why/who is Bryan Anderson?

Anderson

Anderson is a lefty-hitting catcher who hit .302/.374/.417 as a 19 year-old in the Midwest League and .298/.348/.388 as a 20 year-old in AA.

Yeah...

I wasn't literally asking, "Who is Bryan Anderson?"

So, why is a guy with a .736 OPS rated higher than Teagarden? The four years of age between them shouldn't make up for 300 OPS points, especially since Teagarden is still arguably the most defensively advanced catchers in the minors.

Anderson's OPS has dropped with each promotion. The Cardinals appear to be rushing him (a jump from the Midwest League to the Texas League last season)? Either Goldstein is insane or this guy's results aren't in any way indicative of his tools, and if that's the case, why is he here?

Corrections...

Teagarden is only 3 years older, and his OPS was only .886 at AA (still 150 points higher than Anderson).

I still don't get it; does Anderson throw out like 90% of those attempting to steal?

For those who were questioning the Rays

For those of you who were questioning the strength of the Rays farm against the Rangers a couple weeks ago, consider that there are five D-Rays on this list before Feliz, who is our top player on the list. That's pretty amazing. Their system is so strong.

misconception...

they have had a lot of high draft picks, but they have proven they can develop and scout with the best of them. They have made very good picks up and down the draft.
