Dan Burton luvs him some Rocket

I'm reading Richard Justice's liveblogging of the hearings today...

And this jumps out at me:

''Gee whiz, are you kidding me?'' Rep. Dan Burton said to McNamee at one point.

That comment seemed to rattle McNamee, who stumbled over his words after that.

''Are you lying about anything else?'' Burton asked, adding, ''So you just lie when it's conventient for you to lie?''

* * *

''This is really disgusting,'' Burton said. ''You're hear as a sworn witness yet we have lie after lie after lie. I don't know what to believe. I know one thing I don't believe. That's you!''

''Roger Clemens is a baseball titan, and with all these lies, you have destroyed him and his reputation. How can we believe you?... This kind of circus really bothers me.''

LOL

wasn't Clemens hanging around the Congressional halls the last few days "lobbying". I can't believe they would allow that. He certainly must of made some new friends perhaps one of them being
Burton.
You have to watch the new flick "Debbie does HGH". It's not quite as sexy as "Debbie does Dallas" but it may keep Roger Clemens out of jail.

dan burton
In September 1998, Burton admitted to fathering a son, born in 1983, with a former state employee.[3][2] After the admission, one report claimed, "During part of the 1970s and '80s, Dan Burton was known as the biggest skirt-chaser in the Indiana legislature ... Privately, some of his fellow Republicans expressed embarrassment. Lobbyists whispered about the stories of Burton's escapades. Statehouse reporters joked about him. Yet no one ever wrote about, or probably thought about writing anything. To the people who sent him first to the legislature and then to Congress, Burton was Mr. Conservative, the devout husband and father who espoused family values."[2]

On August 22, 2006, Burton remarried to Dr. Samia Tawil in Park City, Utah.[3] Dr. Tawil was the internist who cared for Burton's wife, Barbara, during her battle with cancer.

This is all a waste of time
nothing legally will come of this against Clemens.  He knows it, that's why he pushed to make sure this hearing went through.  He may not be able to prove his innocence to the general public, but as far as the courts go, there's not much to get him on.

unless clemens lies
then he's okay.

but if they think he lied, and can prove it, he is just as bad as bonds.

bonds is a titan of baseball. these allegations have ruined his name and career.  that means everybody against him is lying.

True
But I'm not sure how they could prove he's lying.

I don't think Clemens knows the difference between a Ph.D. and a medical doctor.

waxman's take
"Mr. McNamee, you've taken some hits today. In my view, some were fair, and some were really unwarranted. ... I appreciate your cooperation, and I want to apologize for some of those remarks that were made to you."

Waxman...
has to be the ugliest man alive.

He should of had a big role in Ron Howard's "Grinch" movie. He looks just like a Who from Whoville.
