I am happy to see this. The Rockies should only do this if it is a great deal, and I don't see that coming. I have read what I could on this today, and I just don't see Michael Young as a substantial upgrade to what we have. I was browsing through the new historical WAR figures provided at Baseball Projection (the home of CHONE), and it puts MY at 4.1 last season; the second best year of his career. The reason it differs so much from just about any other rating? He's put down as 9 runs above average defensively in TotalZone. When I've got better information (and it disagrees) I'll put more stock in the better information, but I still think it's interesting.
