Day after Election thread
Since the Election night thread is at about 700 posts.
Congratulations to President-Elect Barack Hussein Obama, and congratulations to the House and Senate. I suspect Obama is smart enough to know that if he goes with a radical enough agenda, all the Dem gains can turn around and wash out about as fast as they washed in.
If he doesn't know that, I suspect he can ask Bill Clinton on how that works.

New New Election day post
the other one is breaking 500 posts, so its time for a new one.
Remember to get your free Starbucks
Prior to Monday afternoon, Starbucks was promoting an ad that said anyone who says enters a Starbucks on Election Day and says that they voted would get a free cup of tall coffee.
RAW VIDEO: Starbucks' Election Day Ad
Election officials for the state of Washington told KIRO 7 that rewarding voters with free coffee is illegal.
"No good deed goes unpunished," said Nick Handy, director of elections.
Handy said there is a federal statute that prohibits any reward for voting.
Starbucks' good deed can be perceived as paying someone to vote, and that’s illegal, Handy said.
"The way it is written, it expressly prohibits giving any kind of gift," Handy said.
Handy said the intent of the statute is aimed at special interest groups trying to influence who and how people vote.
To fix the situation, Starbucks had agreed to give a tall cup of coffee to anyone who asks on Election Day.

OT: Josh Howard Hates America, and probably Freedom
In a video posted on YouTube, the swingman is shown at Allen Iverson's charity flag football game in July. When the national anthem is being sung, various participants are shown mugging for the camera. When the camera gets to Howard, he says: " 'The Star-Spangled Banner' is going on. I don't celebrate this [expletive]. I'm black."Probably the entire Maverick organization hates America, hates freedom, and hates Apple Pie. David Stern was right to conspire from keeping them from an NBA title.

OT: Vince Young, another Crazy Longhorn?
"Last night, we received a call from people that are closest to Vince informing us that he had left his house in a state of mind that had them concerned; and that he was unreachable, having left his cell phone at the house," the statement began.
"Not having all the facts available to us and approaching the matter prudently, we contacted Metro Police to make them aware of the situation and asked for their assistance in locating Vince. He was located at a friend's house, where we made contact with him. He then came to the practice facility where it was determined that those initial concerns by his friends and family were unfounded and he returned home without incident."
After Ricky Williams and Cedric Benson, you just can't be to careful about those crazy Longhorns. Looks like the Texans did make the right pick in the draft all those years ago.

Roger Clemens, Child Molester?
Clemens had affair with McCready
The Daily News has the latest scoop on Roger Clemens, and it’s a shocker. The paper is reporting that he had a decade-long affair with country singer Mindy McCready. Sources tell the News that the affair started when she was 15 (!), and he was 28.
My first thought when hearing this story, was to remember that McCready has had some, well, issues. Specifically, she tried to kill herself when she was pregnant, she was still seeing her abusive boyfriend, and she has had issues with the law. Basically, her life really was the stuff country songs are made of. Oh, and her big hit song from a decade ago was called “Guys Do It All The Time”!

Performance Enhancing Drugs
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080409184817.qle46eoh&show_article=1
They obviously aren't just for baseball anymore.
Twenty percent of scientists admit to using performance-enhancing prescription drugs for non-medical reasons, according to a survey released Wednesday by Nature, Britain's top science journal.
......
Ritalin, a trade name for methylphenidate, is a stimulant normally used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, especially in children. Modafinil -- marketed at Provigil -- is prescribed to treat sleep disorders, but is also effective against general fatigue and jet lag.
Both medications are common currency on college campuses, used as "study aids" to sharpen performance and wakefulness.
