Timmy!

Not a bad debut: 5.0 5 2 2 2 3 1 3.60

Joe O got smacked around a bit: 2.0 3 2 2 2 2 1, but stil sports a 1.98 ERA

Moreland does not like 1st round draft picks, as he goes 3-5 with a double, 2 HRs, and 4 ribs. Nobody's takin' his gig! =0

Hyatt goes for Frisco at 6:00CST, catch it on Channel 21 locally.

BMac goes for OKC at 7:00CST...go Bmac!

EG on Young Pitching

Evan tries to make some sense of the mess o' young pitching the Rangers have plowed through this season. Nine pitchers are profiled, with TDY3311's boy not getting any love...better luck next time!

This season has been breaktaking at times, and heartbreaking at others, so...let the evaluation and grading begin:

I hope I'm not overposting today, I just saw some good info, and decided to share. And, 75....

McCarthy getting some love?

MJH has a great post up on BMac, with this snippet from our Injury Prevention Savant Fav, Will Carrol:

"I think he has a better shot [now that McCarthy is evidently back to getting more lower body into his delivery].    There's never a guarantee, but none of his injuries were that bad.   I agree that [changing mechanics too much] can be a bad thing.   I'd be loathe to change things that were working. The idea that we can 'see things' is being proved more and more false, so I'm having less and less faith in coaches that are working off eyesight, guesses and wisdom passed down from ... well, who knows?"

Can BMac Be Saved?

CD ROM for July!

Awesome!

Chris Davis was named AL rookie of the month for July. That shouldn't come as a surprise for Rangers fans.

Davis hit .303 and led all major league rookies with eight homers. He was tied for first among all rookies with 16 RBIs. Davis also had eight doubles, a triple and 23 runs scored. He had a .646 slugging percentage for the month and a .337 on-base percentage.

Ryan Tatusko going for Clinton tonight. Not too bad of a start:

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Tatusko  5.0 7 3 2 1 7 0 4.25

Angel 2-3 with two ribs, Moreland driving in 2 with a single.

Frisco lost 2-0.

Tubwood gave up 2 runs, 1 earnie, on 5 hits in 4 IP. The good news? He struck out 6, and only walked 2. The other good news? Springdale is known for it's fried chicken...so Kevin won't waste away, or anything. Z's good buddy went 0-fer...so that sucks too.

Edit: OKC plays tonight at 6:05 MT. Doogie looking to stay healthy.

Update: OKC up 1-0 in the first, on an rbi double by Mr. Nate Gold.

OT: Isaac Hayes dead at 65

Not that big bad mutha! It just ain't fair. I guess the Lord needed some funny & soulfull brutha's upstairs.

Snap, what a bummer!

Isaac Hayes, the pioneering singer, songwriter and musician whose relentless "Theme From Shaft" won Academy and Grammy awards, died Sunday, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said. He was 65.

A family member found Hayes unresponsive near a treadmill and he was pronounced dead about an hour later at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, according to the sheriff's office. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Frisco on Channel 21 locally. Watch it and comment here!

And this, which I stole from the DMN blog:

Nellie Cruz has homered again today for Oklahoma. That's 37 for the season, 11 in his last 10 games. The guy has absolutely gone power-bonkers.

Brandon McCarthy threw 82 pitches and allowed a run in 4.2 innings. I'm not sure why he didn't finish the fifth, but I'm told there was no health issue. He allowed four hits and three walks, but struck out five.
