I wouldn't give Manny Ramirez 10 million dollars

I hear these ridiculous contract demands of this guy, it's crazy.

He's almost worthless in my opinion.

I know AJM loves him because of his terrible defense and horrendous attitude, those are the reasons I dont want him.

This guy wants 6-7 years at up to 27 per apparantly. And I think he's what, 36?

I wouldnt touch this guy with a 40 foot pole.

OT: Jerry Jones saves the Cowboys again

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3657314

On Monday, Phillips said changes could be on the horizon for the Cowboys, as the preseason Super Bowl favorites fell to 4-3. At some point between that loss and Wednesday, according to sources, team owner Jerry Jones instructed Phillips to take over the play-calling duties from Stewart, who worked with Phillips in San Diego when he was the San Diego Chargers' defensive coordinator.

Say hello to victory over Tampa Bay!!

I just heard the Cowboys are 24th in the league in points allowed. Inexcusable with this talent.

Man, love me some Jerry Jones, lately.

Also this:

There are very strong rumors that municipalities and States will default on their bonds this week. California and Massachusetts look like good candidates. The cessation of many government services and checks could follow. Iceland and Pakistan are on the verge of bankruptcy. Wonderful, a nuclear armed Islamic state thrown into chaos.

And, probably from a liberal nutjob

My guess is that we could see disruptions in the supply of food within two weeks, with food riots within a month. If that is the scenario then we may see the suspension of the election and...well I can't bring myself to say it.

Dow is plunging..some are predicting it to hit 6,000

Well, it's something else. I almost hate posting this cus I dont want to give err,, slightly less intelligent people like Cahill another forum to spew venom at Republicans and blame them for all of it, but whatever.

OT: Generic 9/21 NFL thread

Wow, how bout those Dolphins, what a stunner. Not just to end the Patriots what, 20+ regular season streak, but 38-13?? Great to see for a die hard Pats hater like myself.

2: How bout those Texans!!!

You know, after catching wind the Texs hired the young Kyle Shanahan at OC, and I really thought their offense looked unstoppable in that Silver boot game, I was really afraid they were going to take off. It's early but, so far not very good. I guess all those great drafts really never helped and PS, I never did figure out why the hell Matt Schuab was ever considered some kind of young stud, considering as far as I could tell he never did jack to deserve that label (much like Jay Cutler prior to this season imo, really).

Looks like the Giants struggled today as well, good to see. Also looks like the Skins are coming on, we've got to keep an eye on that Zorn guy..

Instant replay in baseball=travesty

Now we can get this:

"Oh wow, spectactular game ending home run..or is it? Hold up, the umps are going to take a look at it.."

Like we dont get enough of that shit in football...

I'm sure we all enjoyed the last Cowboys game, of incessent delays for challenges and considering challenges and disecting for the 8 millionth time "what exactly constitues possesion of the football" inanity in the last two minutes of a meaningless preseason game.

OT: McCain is going to win

I dont even know if OT is allowed here anymore, but I'm going old school!

Anyways, yeah, title.

McCain takes 5 point lead in reuters poll:

http://uk.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUKN1948672420080820

The money race..liberal media has told is it's a massive advantage for Obama. Oops, looks like they were doing what they do best, lie:

http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/archive/2008/08/19/the-2008-money-race-stil-closer-than-you-think.aspx

Next we have real clear politics electoral map with no toss up states, which for the first time shows McCain +10

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/?map=10

Now lets touch on the polls most of which would give Obama a 2 to 6 point lead..lets just say I do not trust them. Due to Obama being black and the supposed public tendency to support a black candidate when polled but not in actuality because of fear of being perceived as racist, and the usual liberal bias in the polls run by the liberal media. Combine these two and at any given time I feel McCain is sitting with several points in hand not reflected in polls.

Then we get to the factor of it all comes down to a few swing states, Ohio, Florida, Pennslyvania, Virginia, Colorado, and Michigan. I feel that due to Hillary Clinton running very well in these states, McCain has an edge there.

Finally I feel like Obama is not very bright, therefore his campaign, probably run by a bunch of affirmative action unqualified minorities, has made mistep after mistep, compared to a savvy McCain campaign, and I feel confident that will continue. Latest case in point, Obamas veep frontrunners. As I understand it, Joe Biden and Katherine Sebelius. All I can say to that is..wtf? Joe Biden, no, really?

OT: BUBUB Kobe

Kobe is the worst player in NBA history. FACT.

The Celtics are stout. The home fans wont let them lose, and they can go into any NBA city and win by THIRTY if necessary. The joke here was that LA was ever favored..media caught up in blind Kobe hype just like Obama hype..

How about revisiting the old Paul Pierce to Nowitzki comparisons? Pierce is old now, but he's still black and therefore can play defense.

Have to, like Bill Simmons, credit Doc Rivers too. I never thought this guy could get it done. But even if all he did was  not screw it up. He still "didn't screw it up".

And Danny Ainge, for pulling off the great moves, Vindicated.

OT: NBA finals post of Celtics certain victory

Well, not too much to say about this. Nobody is giving the Celts a chance but frankly I think the Celtics are the better team and will prevail. Kobe is overrated, a rapist, and a selfish choker. And that will prove through again, even overwhelming the fact Phil Jackson coaches circles around Doc Rivers. Also, the Celtics have three studs, so if Ray Allen is cold, Paul Pierce can score, or vice versa (but look out if they're both hot), while Garnett is a steady inside force and alone a more dominant player than Kobe. Whereas the Lakers only have one.

Houston Astros=world series favorites

Yeah, I know what yall and Adam are really thinking about.

Lance Berkmann is fat and a terrible hitter. On the Rangers he would have washed out at DH ten years ago.

OT-Shame the Rockets had to schedule the Celtics

Yup.

Sorry about that "winning streak" thing and stuff.

It's a shame really. It was a perfectly good streak.
