A heartfelt plea to Fox

New, comments

Joe Buck is dull.

Tim McCarver is obtuse.

Today's guest color man, Lou Piniella, seems to have morphed into Captain Obvious.

Put them together, and they are an absolute whip.

But it doesn't have to be that way. Take a cue from Ben Stiller, and let Cotton McKnight and Pepper Brooks broadcast an ALCS game.

It makes all the sense in the world. It would be different..."daring", getting Fox lots of attention. Jason Bateman stars on "Arrested Development" on Fox, which more people should be watching, so having him on provides for a sort of cross-promotion. And Gary Cole's IMDB page says that he is currently filming something referred to as Untitled Will Ferrell NASCAR Comedy. Fox has NASCAR broadcast rights, so, see, it is a perfect fit.

Hell, Fox interrupted last season's freaking World Series coverage so that Chris Myers could interview "Leon" in the stands mid-game.

They are clearly corporate whores.

So at least have some fun with it...
