Another possible assistant G.M.

The Boston Herald is reporting that the Rangers have received permission to interview Peter Woodfork, "the Red Sox' director of baseball operations/assistant director of player development," for the assistant g.m. job.

The Boston Globe included a profile on him as part of piece on Red Sox front office minions. He's a Harvard grad, turns 29 this week, and is another of the number cruncher/contract negotiator genre, although he is described in the Globe article as a "Little League legend," and he played baseball at Harvard.
