Well, after my fretting last night about the implications of Mazzone going to the Yanks, and the Braves talking to Mark Connors, it turns out it was all for naught, as the Rangers have signed Connors to a contract extension, keeping him from jumping to Atlanta.
That would seem, though, to be a sign that management, and Connors, don't think Hershiser is going to be the pitching coach for long.
The same piece mentions that DeMarlo Hale has been given permission to talk to the Red Sox about their third base coaching job. I didn't realize that BoSox third base coach Dale Sveum had gotten axed, although I know he's gotten tons of criticism for his over-aggressive decisions on sending runners home.
