More on the G.M. situation -- Gerry Hunsicker to Texas?

The Houston Chronicle's Jose de Jesus Ortiz on the Hart situation:

It seems as though Texas Rangers general manager John Hart will be let go by owner Tom Hicks.

"We have a gentlemen's agreement to sit down at the end of the year and see where we are going," Hicks told the Dallas Morning News.

Former Astros general manager Gerry Hunsicker might rush at this opportunity, landing in Arlington with a great young core of players similar to what he found in Houston when he landed here with Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio as the foundation.

This is the first time I've heard Gerry Hunsicker's name came up, but my initial reaction is that he'd be a solid choice as g.m.

And with his stint in Houston, he's had experience dealing with a meddling owner with tight pursestrings, and dealing with demanding players.
