Dodgers receive permission to talk to John Hart

The Rangers have given John Hart permission to talk to the Dodgers about their g.m. position.

Wow. First Tampa, now the Dodgers.

Amazing how, just a few weeks ago, John Hart was ready to resign from the Rangers, wanted to spend more time with his family, and definitely -- DEFINITELY -- no way, no how was forced out.

And now he's apparently interested in the Dodgers g.m. job, after being considered for the D-Rays g.m. job.

And the Rangers wonder why they have so little credibility, why no one believes a word that comes out of the mouths of Tom Hicks & Co.

Personally, I'd love to see John Hart get stuck in that front office mess in L.A. It would be a similar situation to the one he joined in Texas...an owner who still wants to spend a bunch of money, but who is pretty clueless in terms of running a baseball team, and who tends to listen to the last person he talked to.

Hart would probably get a big paycheck, take Orel Hershiser with him to be his assistant g.m., and play a lot of golf and let Hershiser do all the work.
