The Reds have reportedly traded Sean Casey to the Pirates for Dave Williams.
Casey isn't a good player any more, and is owed $8.5 million next year, although the Reds apparently may cover some of that. Williams is a decent lefty relief pitcher, but for the Reds, this would mainly seem to be about clearing room at first to put Adam Dunn, so they can roll with a Kearns/Junior/Willie Moo outfield next season.
Kearns, Dunn, and Willie Moo have been involved in trade talks, but with Casey gone, they should be staying put.
