Pudge Rodriguez and his struggles

Pudge Rodriguez has been pretty mediocre offensively this season, at least by his standards, posting a .280/.294/.427 line with a .256 EQA.

Most remarkable to me, though, is that he only has 4 walks on the season.

Four walks, over a quarter of the way through the season. He's on pace for just 15 on the year.

Pudge has always been a hacker, with a career high of 38 walks before leaving Texas. He had shown better patience with Florida in 2003 and Detroit last year, though, which makes this sudden return to his flailing ways all the more surprising.

Pudge is also on pace for 105 Ks on the season, which would be a career high.
