The Rangers have signed first round pick John Mayberry Jr., giving him a $1.525 million signing bonus, the exact same amount Chris Lambert, last year's #19 overall pick, got from the Cardinals in 2004.
He'll probably start the season in Spokane, the Rangers' short-season A-ball club where most of their college draftees debut, although he could conceivably start out at Clinton, the low-A affiliate.
