Seattle's Adrian Beltre is on the bench for the third straight game tonight, nursing a hamstring problem. And he's been awful this year, posting a .231 EQA on the season.
Which got me to thinking...
Beltre is a Boras client, who had spent his entire career with the Dodgers, but who, when he became a free agent, was signed away by an A.L. West team to a 5 year deal at $13 million per season.
He was thought to have failed to reach his potential for most of the time he was a Dodger, but had a great final season, and was thought to be on the rise.
He got to Seattle, has been terrible, hurt his hamstring, and is supposedly having a hard time dealing with the pressure of being a huge dollar free agent acquisition.
Damn...that sounds familiar...
Boras client...5 years at $13 million per...signed away from the Dodgers...flops...
Adrian Beltre...he's the new Chan Ho Park...
