Tommy John surgery...it's not just for the Ranger relievers anymore...
Oakland closer Octavio Dotel will have Tommy John surgery, sidelining him for the rest of this year and much, if not all, of 2006.
Just another blow for the A's, who have had almost everything go wrong that could this season. The A's gave up Mark Teahen and Mike Wood to get Dotel last year, and it was speculated that Oakland might look to flip him at the trade deadline this year, if they didn't get back into the race. Instead, he's on the shelf for 12-18 months...
