The slowest sports news day of the year...

The day after the ASG is traditionally the slowest news day of the year...no games, no NFL training camps, nothing going on with hockey or basketball (unless you count the WNBA or summer leagues, which I don't)...

And not much Rangers news today, either. Kenny Rogers' appeal hearing will reportedly be on July 21, meaning that Rogers will have two more starts before he starts his suspension. It is looking more and more likely that Edison Volquez will be called up to take Rogers' spot in the rotation.

Also, I want to echo and endorse whole-heartedly Jamey Newberg's comments in his report today...the most important priority for the Rangers needs to be locking up Mark Teixeira long-term...
