Rangers in on Manny Ramirez?

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Rangers are one of the teams in on the Manny Ramirez sweepstakes.

The Rangers going after Manny makes a certain amount of sense, particularly if Hicks is going to bump payroll back to the $70-80 million range. Manny is a legitimate thumper to put into the middle of the lineup, one of the best offensive players in the game even at age 33. And his big contract isn't heavily backloaded...he's only owed $57 million over the next three years, with a good portion of that deferred, so the contract isn't all that onerous.

I'm not sure what the Red Sox are looking for in exchange, but Manny would be intriguing. And given that his stated reason for wanting out of Boston is a lack of privacy, playing in D/FW might be a good fit...
